“Apartheid” in Palestine

“Apartheid” in Palestinian Administered Occupied Territories*

Israel is often under fire because of its “apartheid”. Though it is unclear what is meant, to my knowledge in Israel there are no parks, banks etc. exclusively reserved for Jews or Arabs nor legislation for such thinks. It is a state where both groups can live side by side.

In contrast, in areas controlled by Palestinians, there is no criticism of apartheid. Because Jews do not and cannot live there. If some would enter these areas, in the best case, they would be returned to the state of Israel, otherwise they would be taken captive, hostage, or lynched.

Which is much, much worse than any form of apartheid. Surely that should be addressed first before complaining of “Apartheid”.

Just think before criticizing.

*”Occupied Territories” is the term usually used for areas that Jordan (and Egypt, Syria, Lebanon) had occupied and annexed during the Arab-Israeli war 1948-1949 (in rejecting the 1947 UN Partition Plan) and later abandoned after the 6-Day-War 1967 (with only Syria reclaiming the Golan Heights), now being under Israeli control with areas under Palestinian administration.
